TDK honors best distributors
- TDK Best Global Performance Award for Mouser Electronics
- TDK European Distribution Awards in Gold for Avnet Abacus, RS Components Europe and EPi-Components
- Good inventory management and long-term planning remain important success factors
TDK has once again honored its best and most successful distributors. The TDK Best Global Performance Award went to Mouser Electronics. TDK European Distribution Awards in Gold were presented to Avnet Abacus in the International Distributor category, to RS Components Europe in the e-Catalogue Distributors category and to the Austrian company EPi-Components as Best Local Distributor.
“Due to the ongoing very high demand for our products, good inventory management and long-term planning were also important success factors for the award in 2021,” says Dietmar Jaeger, head of TDK's Global Distributor Division. International distributors in particular benefited here and achieved above-average growth, Jaeger added. Mouser Electronics more than doubled its sales of TDK products and therefore received the TDK Global Performance Award at the Electronic Distribution Show (eds) in Las Vegas in May.
Four additional Distribution Awards were presented in Europe: In the e-Catalogue Distributors category, silver went to Mouser Electronics Europe and bronze to TME Electronic Components. In the local distributors category, the Polish distributor Elhurt Spółka came second and the German company Beckmann Elektronik third.
Massive investment in inventory
“Looking at Europe, Avnet Abacus has done a very good job among the international distributors, showing stable performance with good growth rates both in the long term and over the past three years,” says Jaeger.
“We are both proud and delighted that TDK as one of our largest partners has once again awarded us its European Distribution Award”, says Rudy Van Parijs, President Avnet Abacus. “We are growing faster than the market because we believe in providing local support as it is important to be close to our customers. Second, we invest in additional products and higher volumes. The value of our inventory is currently about 65 percent higher than a year ago. Third, we provide the best logistical solutions for both our customers and our suppliers.”
For the first time among the award winners this year is the Polish distributor TME Electronic Components. “I am very pleased about this because this company shows a very good performance overall and continuously invests in its warehousing,” says Jaeger. He adds TME's fully automated warehouse in Lódz, Poland's third largest city, is particularly impressive.
