The Hongqi site in China has now also started operating its own photovoltaic system. More than 1,750 solar modules are installed on the roofs of several buildings, covering an area of 4,580 square meters.

TDK Corporation announces that it has developed the world’s first* “Spin Photo Detector,” a photo-spintronic conversion element combining optical, electronic, and magnetic elements that can respond at an ultra-high speed of 20 picoseconds (20 × 10⁻¹² s) using light with a wavelength of 800 nm [1] – more than 10X faster than conventional semiconductor-based photo detectors.

The Zhuhai FTZ site has started operating its own photovoltaic system. It generates 2,100 megawatt hours of electricity per year. The plant's CO₂ emissions will be reduced by 2,240 tons per year.

The Xiamen site in China has received the Excellence Award from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) for continuous improvements in manufacturing.

The Nashik site in India is sourcing additional solar power from a further photovoltaic field and is thus able to cover around 75 percent of its energy needs with green electricity.

TDK Corporation announces that its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions net-zero targets are now verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). SBTi recognizes that TDK's long-term targets align with the objective of limiting the global temperature rise to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels, consistent with the Paris Agreement.

In Iceland, warm cooling water from the production process at the Akureyri site is used to heat a residential area in the nearby town.

The Šumperk site has expanded its photovoltaic system. A total of almost 5,400 panels are now installed over an area of around 15,000 square meters, generating 1.9 gigawatt hours of solar power annually.
