The power in expertise

 David Olalla Pic

Join David Olalla, Vice President Product Development Film Capacitors at TDK Electronics, for his presentation xEVCap Next Level: Capacitor Bank and Thermo-Mechanical Evaluation of a Powertrain Inverter.

This paper presents a validated thermo‑mechanical model of a traction inverter’s DC link using four xEVCap in parallel. The model is calibrated against a hardware demonstrator to predict internal hot spot temperatures and estimate the component’s lifetime. We furthermore assess a busbar design and fixation strategy. With the CLARA web tool’s Capacitor Banks module, users can explore the design‑spaces for 400/800 V inverters quickly without prototyping.

The power in EMC testing

We are currently in the final phase of constructing a much larger EMC lab in Regensburg, Germany. It will have more than twice the area of the existing one. The accredited site will span almost 1,700 square meters, 1,100 of which will be dedicated to laboratories and measuring stations. It will also include a showroom and a large customer area with meeting rooms. At PCIM, you can learn more about our EMC services.
