The Munich site continues its commitment to socially disadvantaged children and young people. As part of a partnership with the non-profit organization DEIN MÜNCHEN, which is initially planned to run for three years, several colleagues took part in workshops on topics such as social media and job interviews. The young people also had the opportunity to visit the TDK Electronics Headquarters and a prototyping and measurement. At the end of last year, DEIN MÜNCHEN received a joint donation of 30,000 euros from TDK Electronics, TDK Europe, and TDK Management Services.
The organization aims to better integrate socially disadvantaged children and young people into society and provide them with long-term support. TDK is supporting the NO LIMITS! education program with its donation. The program is designed to help participants discover their strengths, develop skills and confidence in their own abilities. In addition to the donation, colleagues are now getting involved by giving presentations and running workshops.
One topic was how to deal with social media and the credibility of information on the internet. Another workshop focused on setting up a fictional company, including business ideas, job advertisements, and recruiting. The teenagers were also prepared for job interviews.
Another group of young people had the opportunity to visit the TDK Electronics Headquarters and learn about products and various careers. The young people gained practical experience in a prototype construction and measurement laboratory, where they were able to sit at the machines and wind wire onto coil formers. The participants were amazed when small flashes of lightning occurred during component testing due to the high voltage.
Katja Schubert, program manager at NO LIMITS!, emphasizes how important personal commitment is for the participants' further development: “Authentic role models play a major role at DEIN MÜNCHEN. It is their own stories, experiences, and life lessons that help our young people get ahead in life.”
The next season of events will start in fall. “I'm looking forward to our future joint activities. Because only together, we can ensure a good and socially inclusive community and give young people hope for the future,” says Katja Schubert.
Many thanks to all colleagues who helped give young people hope for the future!
