30,000 euros for the education of disadvantaged children and young people

The non-profit organization DEIN MÜNCHEN receives the corporate donation of TDK Electronics, TDK Europe and TDK Management Services of 30,000 euros this year. The aim is to better integrate disadvantaged children and young people, who grow up in social and financial risk situations, into society and to support them sustainably.

The organization wants to enable young people to have fair starting conditions and empower them to lead a self-determined life. “Only children and young people who have the opportunity to make something of themselves can make a difference to our society,” says Mara Bertling, Founder and Managing Director of DEIN MÜNCHEN.

The organization offers a basic program for children and young people aged 12 to 21 with modules in the areas of education, culture and sports. For particularly motivated participants in this program, there is the three-stage educational program NO LIMITS! with a focus on personal development. In this program, participants get to know their strengths, develop skills and confidence in their own abilities, and are supported in their school and professional development. TDK is supporting this educational program with a donation of 30,000 euros. Each year, about 1,000 children can participate in the two programs. The organization and its founder have already received numerous awards for this special commitment, including the Commitment Award of the City of Munich.

“We made a conscious decision to support DEIN MÜNCHEN because we want to provide long-term support to young people in our city who do not have a good start in life,” says Julia Weiss, Communications Manager at TDK Electronics Corporate Communications. “We want to encourage them to look to the future. Ideally, the young people will be able to benefit from the personal support of DEIN MÜNCHEN throughout their lives. We are planning a three-year partnership with the organization and, in addition to the donation, we also want to motivate our employees to get personally involved, for example, by giving lectures or holding workshops. Together we can make a difference.” #mutaufzukunft
