Almost 100 Christmas presents for disadvantaged children

When colleagues at the Munich site become Christmas elves again: In cooperation with the Munich Christmas Presents Rain Charity (Muenchner Geschenke-Regen), children from socially disadvantaged families submitted Christmas wishes for the fourth year in a row, which were then fulfilled by colleagues. This year, almost 100 children were delighted to receive a Christmas present.

A cozy Christmas together with the family and a Christmas tree with lots of presents - a nice thought, but one that doesn't come true for everyone. “The waves of refugees in recent years and the pandemic have made the public aware that there are many people living in our country who don't get much of the sunny side of life,” says the Muenchner Geschenke-Regen initiative on its website. “Especially children and young people who grow up in poor and socially disadvantaged circumstances have an increasingly difficult start in life.” Since 2008, the organization has been collecting wish lists from disadvantaged children and fulfilling them with the help of participating companies. In total, almost 30,000 wishes have already been fulfilled.

And so, the Munich site was briefly transformed into a Christmas factory once again: Whether it was a soccer, a necklace or a craft kit – also this year, there was a wide variety of wishes on the list, the gifts were carefully selected and beautifully wrapped by colleagues. 66 gifts went to children of an initiative group for intercultural exchange and education at a secondary school. The association primarily supports the education of migrants in Munich. An additional 32 gifts went to children of a day care center for primary school children.

“I'm delighted that so many colleagues took part in our campaign again this year,” says Julia Weiss, who is in charge of the project at TEG Corporate Communications. “All the wishes were fulfilled, and we have already delivered the presents to the facilities so that the children can unwrap their parcels under the Christmas tree.”
