TDK has expanded its flat wire ERU inductors by integrating two windings into one component with the benefit of inductive coupling. Inductive coupling reduces the ripple current which lowers the switching losses of the power transistors and improves overall system efficiency. There is also the benefit of low loss ferrite core material and optimized coupled coil construction.

Main and Typical Applications

In general, the ERUC series can replace two identical inductors operating with dual-phase interleaved topologies. Typical topologies are hybrid converters, buck, boost, buck-boost as shown below: 


Suitable for

Ideally suited for dual-phase interleaved topologies. This coupled Inductor is specifically well adopted in hybrid converters (48 V to 12 V conversion), buck-boost for RF power amplifier, traditional buck converters and so on. This product will target mainly the server and 48-V automotive market as well as general power market.
