TDK Corporation has joined the RE100^*1 international initiative as the company works toward ensuring that 100% of the electricity used in its business activities comes from renewable energy. The Indian industry association ELCINA has honored the Nashik and Kalyani plants for special achievements in exports, research and development, and environmental management. ELCINA (Electronic Industries Association of India) is the country's leading industry association, advising the government on economic policy issues.

TDK in Brazil has once again received an award from the national marketing and sales association ADVB-RS for its export achievements. 87 percent of the production of aluminum electrolytic and film capacitors at the Gravataí site is exported to more than 60 countries.

TDK sponsored Agoria Solar Team from Belgium has finished second in the Sasol Solar Challenge in South Africa. The students from the Technical University Leuven covered 4,186 kilometers in eight days, just 38 kilometers behind the first-placed team, the Brunel Solar Team from Leiden in the Netherlands.

TDK Electronics wants to produce as eco-friendly and low in emissions as possible. In April 2021, the company had already achieved the TDK Group's goal of halving its CO₂ emissions by 2035. Today, emissions have been reduced by further 15 percent and are thus around two-thirds lower relative to sales than in 2015.

TDK supports sustainable mobility concepts for the future and is now also involved in the field of solar vehicles: for the 2022 season, TDK is sponsoring the Agoria Solar Team at the Technical University of Leuven in Belgium. The team has recently won the biggest and most important races and is the current world champion of the scene. At the moment, the students are preparing for the Sasol Solar Challenge in South Africa. TDK supports the team with components, know-how and also financially.

Big success for the Hyperloop racing team Swissloop, supported by TDK, at the European Hyperloop Week in Delft: The students from ETH Zurich prevailed in 2 of 6 categories and won gold for the best traction and the best mechanical subsystem.

TDK works with students at various universities to develop sustainable mobility concepts for the future. As part of its sponsorship program, TDK is promoting concepts for the Hyperloop as well as for solar and electric vehicles.

Well positioned, the Heidenheim site celebrates its 75th anniversary. Production has been significantly expanded to meet the growing demand, particularly from the automotive industry. Further investments are planned. As early as next year, the site's capacity is to increase to one billion inductivities per year.

TDK will once again support the Swissloop Team at ETH Zuerich as they take part in the European Hyperloop Week (EHW) in the Netherlands in July. The team bagged the first prize at last year’s competition.

TDK has once again honored its best and most successful distributors. The TDK Best Global Performance Award went to Mouser Electronics. TDK European Distribution Awards in Gold were presented to Avnet Abacus in the International Distributor category, to RS Components Europe in the e-Catalogue Distributors category and to the Austrian company EPi-Components as Best Local Distributor.

Nashik site celebrates its 25th anniversary. Over this period, the plant has substantially expanded and continuously broadened its expertise. Plans are already underway for the next phase of expansion to start additional production in 2023.

TDK Corporation announces that Dr. Werner Lohwasser (55) will become the new Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TDK Electronics AG, a TDK Group company, effective July 1, 2022. This was decided by the Supervisory Board of TDK Electronics.
