Best quality among 17,000 suppliers

TDK Electronics has received a Quality Award from Vitesco Technologies for special achievements in product and supply chain quality. With this award, the automotive supplier for drive technologies recognizes the high quality of temperature sensor systems. In 2022, for which the award was presented, there were no complaints in around 200,000 systems supplied. In total, Vitesco Technologies honored only six of its approximately 17,000 suppliers worldwide.

The customized temperature sensor systems are developed in Berlin and produced at the Batam site in Indonesia. Vitesco Technologies uses them in the engine of electric vehicles. In addition, the Regensburg-based company sources other temperature and pressure sensors and numerous other products from TDK's portfolio.

“TDK Electronics was able to continuously improve the quality level and achieved the best possible quality result in 2022. This was achieved thanks to the excellent commitment and cooperation between the Berlin and Batam sites,” says Kai Lippmann, Head of Supplier Quality Management Electronics Vitesco Technologies.

In addition, the outstanding cooperation between the two companies over many years was recognized. “We are very pleased to receive this special award from Vitesco Technologies among so many competitors,” says Daniel Oelbermann, Product Marketing Manager Temperature Sensors Automotive. “Now it's a matter of maintaining this high level and, if possible, extending it to other areas.”

Bettina Renz, Strategic Account Officer, coordinates the global design-in projects with Vitesco Technologies from the Munich site. She is pleased about the good cooperation, which is based on the “common DNA” in the field of electromobility. “Both companies have defined the transformation to e-cars as an important strategic growth target.” This, she said, requires numerous more customized products and a close partnership to cope with the challenging time to market.
