TDK named climate leader on CDP’s annual ‘A-List’ for climate change and water security
TDK achieved its first “A” rank for climate change
TDK also achieved an “A” rank for water security, marking the company’s first time to receive a “Double A” ranking
TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) has been recognized for its leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change and water security initiatives by the global environmental non-profit organization CDP, securing a place on its annual ‘A-List’. This is the first time that TDK achieved an “A” rank for climate change, and for five consecutive years for water security.
CDP is a global non-profit organization that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts. CDP holds the largest environmental database in the world, and the scores are widely used to drive investment and procurement decisions towards a zero carbon, sustainable, and resilient economy. In 2024, over 700 financial institutions with over $142 trillion in assets requested companies to disclose data on environmental impacts, risks, and opportunities through CDP’s platform. A record-breaking 24,800 companies responded.
A detailed and independent methodology is used by CDP to assess these companies, and the best companies are recognized on the “A-List” each year.
TDK is committed to pioneering rapid and effective environmental activities that consider climate change and water security, with the aim of passing on a healthier global environment to future generations. The disclosure of these activities is crucial for ensuring transparency in our environmental impact and sustainability efforts. In the field of climate change, we have set a long-term goal of net zero CO2 emissions by 2050, and we have obtained SBTi certification for our targets up to fiscal 2030 for promoting this goal. We appreciate that this achievement is a recognition of these activities.
Moving forward, we will continue to focus on addressing social issues through our business activities, guided by our corporate philosophy. We are dedicated to contributing to a sustainable future, as outlined in our long-term vision, "TDK Transformation."in.
