EPCOS CTVS (Ceramic Transient Voltage Suppressors) components feature excellent characteristics for a wide range of applications. ESD and surge pulse protection is the key functionality.

High electrical and mechanical robustness over time
Electrical characteristics are stable against repeated ESD and ISO pulses

Automotive applications

E series of CTVS multilayer varistors are generally used for

ESD protection (e.g. acc. to ISO 10605 / IEC 61000-4-2) for bus interfaces
(e.g. CAN, LIN, MOST, Ethernet, FlexRay)
Protection against high-energy transients (e.g. jump start and load dump protection) acc. to ISO 7637-2 and ISO 16750-2 occurring at e.g. battery lines
