Supply chain

TDK Electronics follows a generally accepted code of conduct for business transactions when selecting its suppliers. We expect fairness and transparency on both sides and insist that suppliers comply with all relevant laws and provisions in relation to product quality and product safety, environmental protection, data security, fair trade, ethical practices, occupational health and safety, human rights and working conditions.

Conflict resources

Since TDK Electronics strives to avoid conflict resources in the supply chain, we attach high priority to communication about these resources. We require our suppliers to disclose any relevant information and, on request, willingly share this information with our customers.

More

Procurement principles

Each Business Group and each TDK Electronics facility is responsible for defining its procurement needs and sources. Our procurement principles apply in all cases, governing the procurement of materials of the right quality, in the right quantities, at the right time and the right price and from the right source. All procurement measures are completed in line with our contractual obligations.

Supplier appraisals

Suppliers and their representatives are treated fairly. Feasible possibilities, capabilities, integrity, financial status, geographical locations, performance, reliability, product quality, delivery capabilities and general relationships between customers and suppliers are all important factors in the appraisal of our existing and potential suppliers. We are always on the lookout for new suppliers who manufacture better products, contribute to cost-cutting and/or offer other benefits.

Bidding principles

To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, TDK Electronics’ procurement principles highlight the importance of competitive tenders. Bids are requested via a potential supplier’s most direct recognized sales channel. This is done to ensure that obligations and responsibilities can in no way be impaired or confused due to transactions via third parties.

In issuing a request for a bid, we demonstrate our willingness to engage in business with those parties whom we have asked to submitted bids.
