CeraPad wins innovation award

Automobil Industrie China, a leading trade magazine for the automotive industry in China, selected CeraPad™ for its Automotive Innovation Technology Award. The annual award, which was presented at the International Automotive Congress 2018 in Shanghai recognizes innovations that play an important role in promoting the technological advancement of the industry and improving the performance of automobiles.

CeraPad ceramic substrate with integrated ESD protection

CeraPad is an ultra-thin ceramic substrate with integrated ESD protection that is suitable for LEDs. The ESD protection is embedded directly into the substrate below the LED. Thanks to chip-scale packaging, CeraPad substrate will enable the placement of up to as many as 1000 tightly packed LEDs that are individually controllable according to customer requirements. With CeraPad technology, designers can create innovative, high resolution lighting effects in the smallest of spaces, for example in multiple LED flashes in smartphones, automotive interior lighting systems, or in the adaptive headlights of cars using LED matrix arrays.

The award winners were determined on the basis of online voting and a review by experts. CeraPad received one of the highest number of votes of the 30 winners. Automobil Industrie China is published by Germany-based Vogel Business Media, one of the world’s largest trade media publishers.
