For our Business Group Magnetics in Munich we are looking for an R&D support for xEV high performance magnetics through the use of practical measurements, analytical calculations and FEM simulations.

Working student in the field of electrical engineering (m/f/d)

What you can expect

  • Support in R&D of high-power magnetics for xEVs (new materials and designs)
  • Training and research of EV-charging topologies (OBC & DCDC converter)
  • Perform measurements on new state-of-the-art high-power testing station with creative testing solutions:
    • Thermal measurements of high-power inductive components
    • Comparison of measurements with 2D & 3D thermal and electromagnetic FEM simulation and analytical calculations with MATLAB
    • Power efficiency measurements of inductive components
    • Summarize findings in test reports and present to team

What you bring to the table

  • Enrollment in a technical or scientific course of study: electrical engineering, mechatronics or physics
  • Ability to work in a team and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of English / German is an advantage
  • Initiative and enthusiasm to learn and implement new things.
  • Preferably basic knowledge of how inductive components work, and power converter technology.
  • Preferably experience in measurement technology, electromagnetic/thermal simulation, MATLAB, etc.
  • Interest in developing electrical components for e-mobility
