We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality Manager to oversee and enhance the quality assurance processes at our Akureyri (TDK Foil) plant. The Quality Manager will be responsible for developing and managing quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of advanced foil materials consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals.

What you can expect

  • Develop and maintain the plant's quality management system in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant certifications and standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for product failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and mentor the quality control team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure staff are knowledgeable about quality standards and procedures.
  • Oversee and perform regular inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality metrics, inspections, and test results.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer quality concerns and audits.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their quality requirements and ensure these are met or exceeded.
  • Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

What you bring to the table

  • Knowledge in ISO 9001, IATF 16949 standards and in QMS in general
  • Certification in IATF 16949 internal auditing
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools such as (but not limited to) FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, APQP, 5Why, 8D
  • Good computer skills (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SLIP)
  • Conversational English language skills
  • Training on compulsory matrix content required by TDK within 3 years
  • Experience in Laboratory is a plus
