TDK Corporation presents a new series of EPCOS power capacitors for DC link applications designed for an operating temperature of up to +105 °C. The components with the ordering code B25695E can operate at rated DC voltages from 700 V to 1300 V (voltage derating necessary from +85 °C). The ESR ranges from 1.0 mΩ to 2.7 mΩ, resulting in a current capability of up to 110 A at +70 °C, depending on the model (current derating necessary at higher temperatures).

TDK has introduced a bio-circular polypropylene film for its ModCap^® series of DC-link capacitors. This is the first step towards fully sustainable film capacitors as Dr. Marisa Rico, coordinator of the materials laboratory, and Victor Alcaide, Director Product Marketing of PEC HP capacitors, explain.

The capacitors are rated for voltages from 500 V DC to 1600 V DC, offer capacitance values from 0.47 µF to 170 µF and are suitable for a maximum operating temperature of up to 105 °C.

TDK Corporation has added the B32354S* series to its portfolio of metalized EPCOS polypropylene (MKP) capacitors for filter applications. The new devices, which feature a 4-pin design and a pitch of 52.5 mm, are rated for V_RMS of 275 V AC or 350 V AC and cover a capacitance range from 10 μF to 40 μF. The maximum operating temperature is 85 °C.

TDK Corporation presents a new series of EPCOS MKP-Y2 capacitors for interference suppression. In contrast to conventional models designed for a maximum operating temperature of 110 °C, the new capacitors offer a maximum permissible operating temperature of 125 °C. The B3202*H/J series’ capacitance ranges from 1 nF to 1 µF with a maximum rated voltage of 300 V AC.

TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) presents a new series of very compact EPCOS X2 capacitors for noise suppression. They are rated for 275 V AC and cover a capacitance spectrum from 33 nF to 1 µF. Depending on the capacitance value, the interference suppression components have lead spaces of 10 mm (B32921X* / Y*), 15 mm (B32922X* / Y*) and 22.5 mm (B32923X* / Y*).

TDK Corporation presents its new B32320I* series of compact cylindrical DC-link capacitors for mounting on PCBs. They are designed for voltages of 450 V DC to 1300 V DC and cover a capacitance range of 6.5 µF to 260 µF. The current handling capacity I_RMS is up to 27.6 A (10 kHz, 60 °C) and minimal ESR is 2.4 mΩ.

High-performance IGBT modules switch currents in the kA range, whereby unwanted and in some cases harmful voltage overshoots can occur due to DC link leakage inductances. To counteract this, TDK offers extremely low-inductance special- snubber and DC link capacitors.
